Where I Find Inspiration for My Game Designs

Game design is not just about mechanics or graphics—it's also about ideas, stories, and feelings. One of the most common questions I get is: “Where do you find inspiration for your games?” Here are my top sources of inspiration: 1. Everyday Life – A walk in the park, a conversation with a friend, or even a strange dream can spark a new game idea. 2. Movies and Books – Storytelling in films and novels gives me ideas for characters, worlds, and emotions I want to recreate in games. 3. Other Games – I play games from many genres, studying how they work, what they do well, and what could be improved. 4. Nature and Art – Colors, shapes, and patterns in nature or paintings help me think visually and design better environments. 5. My Own Experiences – Personal memories and feelings often find their way into my design choices, making my games more meaningful. Inspiration is everywhere—you just need to look with curiosity and imagination.

The First Game I Ever Designed: Lessons Learned

Every game designer starts somewhere, and today, I want to share the story of the first game I ever designed.

It was a simple 2D platformer I created using Unity. The game had only three levels, a basic jump mechanic, and a single enemy type. It wasn’t perfect, but it was mine—and it taught me so much.

Here are the biggest lessons I learned:

1. Start Small – Trying to build a huge game from the beginning is overwhelming. Starting small helped me stay focused and complete the project.

2. Playtesting Matters – Watching others play my game showed me issues I hadn’t noticed. Feedback was more valuable than I expected.

3. Don't Fear Bugs – Bugs are part of the process. The key is to stay calm and debug step-by-step.

4. Finish What You Start – Even if it’s not perfect, finishing a project builds confidence and skills.

Looking back, that small project gave me the courage to keep going—and now, I can’t wait to share more of my creations with you.
